The Club Name

Published Sun 25 Aug 2019

The United Softball Group is not just a club there are many teams, the name Group was created to provide governance to the large United community. Firstly there is the Saturday competition, where we all gather to socialize, play and for some this is a good training arena.

Next level up is the Junior Academy, these teams are formed for travelling tournaments (Canberra Invitational Aust Day), gala days and higher level tournaments (Development League, Blue Blaze).

In the Junior Academy, the teams range from Tball to the U15s, the boys U15 will then become the feeder for the Mens Winter and State League. And in the Girls the U13 United Sparks feed to the U15 United Flames and onto the more elite tournaments WInter and State League.

Seniors  have numerous teams playing a number of associations from SDSA and GRSA,

Masters with currently 2 teams, Mens United Inmates and the United Raptors with a womens Team in the planning.

With teams ranging from Tball to masters participating in many arenas the United Group framework provides Governance defined as structures and process designed to ensure accountability, transparency, rule of law, stability, equity and inclusiveness, empowerment and a broad- based participation.

Incorporation - the United softball group is incorporated, which makes the group a legal entity and gives it a legal structure for operate not-for-profit. A legal entity that stays the same even if its members change and protects the individual members from legal liabilities. Our constitution and financial records are accountable to its members and the Dept of Fair Trading

In summary, we are a sporting club structured with a solid platform of governance to allow children and adults to participate in many skill levels of Softball. Using short and long term goal planning we are providing pathways for our YOUTH.
